Questions to consider for our Live Meeting

1. What does Web 2.0 mean to me (since there is no universally accepted

definition)?

2. Why should I use Web 2.0 tools for ESP? Are they used by the people I teach

or in the industries where they will work? What is their pedagogical value?

3. If I make the decision to use Web 2.0 tools, how can I integrate them into my

ESP classes?

a. Sign up at Skype to create your username and password so that you can enjoy talking and text chatting synchronously with the moderators and participants.

b. Skype will be used for quick questions and answers, informal small-group or individual meetings, and to make more global friends from our ESP community.

  • Web-based Yahoo Messenger

a. Sign up at http://webmessenger.yahoo.com/

b. Create your YM ID to voice or text chat synchronously with the moderators and other participants around the world.

c. This is Yahoo Messenger for the Web, so no need to download YM, just sign up and use it from any browser!
d.  If you already use multiple messenger programs (Google Talk, MSN Messenger, AIM), you might be interested in checking out Meebo where you can sign into multiple programs simultaneously.

  • Use the Database section at Web 2.0 for ESP Yahoo Group

a. Add your contact information to the Contact List at Database section at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/web2_for_esp/database

b. You need to click on Contact List; next, click on Add Record link shown at the top right corner, and finally, provide the required information and save
